We chose to call our business ‘Starlight' because it represents the underlying belief that we are all ‘stars' and that, if we remain true to our inner self, we will radiate this light and be who we are capable of being. However, for most of us, we have had some negative experiences that have knocked our self confidence or self belief. If we are lucky we have continued to receive more positive affirmations than negative pronouncements and are managing our lives relatively well. For others however, we may have adopted behaviours that become more self destructive. It may be necessary therefore to spend time reflecting on why our lives are not bringing us happiness, reward, contentment, love and other positive reinforcements, in order to redress the balance.
Racism can clearly impact on a person's ability to ‘shine' and all of Starlight's courses and events are designed to encourage participants to be who they are capable of being by no longer being at the effect of their own or other's negative opinions and prejudice. There is an opportunity to reflect on where these values and beliefs originate and to let go of any attitudes that cause friction and disunity.
